Turf Fertilization Program The Quality Lawn & Landscape, Inc. Turf Fertilization Program provides six individual treatments per year, specifically designed for the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. The treatments are scheduled four-five weeks apart and provide for application of slow release granular fertilizers as well as treatment for weeds and turf-damaging insects. Our programs will provide your turf with all the basics for a beautiful and healthy appearance throughout the growing season, year after year. Treatment 1- Early Spring; Crabgrass (April 1- May 15) Pre-emergent crabgrass control, and early spring fertilizer with iron to encourage new roots. Balanced for spring green up and root development. Post-emergent for broadleaf weeds. Treatment 2- Late Spring; Merit Grub Control (May 1- June 30) Late spring fertilizer with slow-release nutrients and broadleaf weed control, as needed. Merit grub control (guaranteed grub control for up to six months. Kills up to 98% of the larva and reduces moles and rodent activity) Treatment 3- Summer (June 15- August 15) Fertilizer with slow- release nutrients to keep your lawn green even during the warm summer months. Broadleaf weed control and surface insect control, as needed. Inspection for insect problems, culture care recommendations to enhance beauty and strength. Treatment 4- Late Summer (August 15 - September 30) Fall fertilizer with high phosphorus to promote healthy plants and new seed development. Broadleaf weed control is applied if necessary. Surface insect inspection and treatment if required. Treatment 5- Early Fall (September 15- October 30)Fertilization is balanced for prolonged color and continued recovery from summer stress. Inspect and treat broadleaf weeds, as needed. Treatment 6- Late Fall Winterizer (October 15- November 30)100% potash applied in late fall to stimulate root development, and quick green up in the spring. Also helps reduce snow mold.
